Buddy Dog is a 501(c)3 humane society, shelter and adoption center in Sudbury, MA.
Founded in 1961, “Buddy Dog” is a not-for-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to finding new homes for homeless dogs and cats. The Society is incorporated with one main objective, “giving a new lease on life to impounded dogs and cats”. Animals find refuge at our shelter, and can depend on becoming someone’s forever friend. There is no time limit on their stay.
The goal of the Buddy Dog Humane Society is to find responsible and permanent homes for all the animals in our care. To help realize this goal, our adoption counselors work with potential adopters to match them with a friend for life. At Buddy Dog, we value our reputation as a premiere humane organization in metropolitan Boston. We invite you to come visit the shelter and see the beautiful “buddies” awaiting new homes… and to spread the word.
Meet Brea
Hello! I am a Boutique Photographer, helping clients decorate their homes with gorgeous artwork that features the people (and pets) they love most! From planning a unique session to framing and installing your artwork, I make it fun and easy to surround yourself with meaningful family heirlooms.
Over the last few years, I have used photography to raise thousands of dollars for charitable causes. This year, I am thrilled to work with other photographers around the country in this fun event.
I now have my own perfect, snuggly, love-muffin of a doggie (thanks Covid!), and I know how important she is to my life.
I am excited to help families make sure their pups are loved and remembered fur-ever!

MEET YOUR CONTESTANTS
Competing for the title of Ultimutt Cutest Pooch of Metrowest
Baylee is a playful cavachon who puts her whole heart into immediately loving everyone she meets. This intuitive love bug's idea of a perfect day is hanging with the big dogs, frolicking with little kids, and endlessly snuggling on the couch with everyone in between.
Camden has a strict hugging policy (everyone qualifies) and tackles every activity with the same enthusiastic goofiness that makes him impossible not to love. Sweet to his core and never without a smile, he is always available for belly rubs.
Meet Rowdy. He comes in like a wrecking ball. He is perhaps the most appropriately named dog. Part chaos agent, part velcro. Loud and full of love. He doesn't do anything halfway. If enthusiasm were a volume setting, you'd need earplugs. You'll find him bounding around like a crescent roll, rocking out to House of Pain's Jump Around, on repeat.
Louie "Zeus" Shapiro, age 6, may be small but he sure is mighty! A spirited professional snack-seeker (he is Greek, after all!), Louie lives for Greek food, a good bone, playtime with his hoomans, daily walks around the neighborhood, and snuggle time with his favorite girl.
Kiefer is our 15-year-old miracle dog living with heart disease after a tickborne infection for the last 9 years! He still thinks he's a puppy at times, bouncing around like a bunny and barking for treats, but also loves his naps and snuggle time with the fam.
A total softie inside and out, Rocket lives on hugs. He's a gentle soul who's as fast as his name (but still has yet to catch a squirrel!)
Benny is a great guy who thinks everyone is his friend. He loves to trot around his neighborhood sniffing everything in sight. Calm and easygoing but insists you pet him immediately when you walk in his home. Loves chicken, his mom, and car rides.
Rocky is a snuggly little shadow, always curling up close and making you laugh with his silly antics. His goofy charm and endless affection make him impossible not to love.
Maggie, a Southern belle rescued from Arkansas, traded sunshine for snow and now rules winter like it’s her personal runway. Equal parts genius and walking ray of sunshine, she’s fueled by belly rubs, a thriving stolen sock collection, and the quiet confidence of a pup who knows she’s not vain… just objectively pawfect.
At 14, Stella has tons of spunk! Despite her age, she's known to zoom around her backyard at full speed and could take a kangaroo in a jump contest. While in recharge mode she enjoys prolonged sunny naps, gnawing on cheesy chews, and silently judging your every move.
Oh, Syd! She’s DOG personified. Sloppy drinker, messy eater, personal space ignore-er. Syd was born roadside in Mississippi and brought to us by the graces of the Sweet Paws Mafia. Ball is life, but so are her humans - you’ll never meet a cuter weighted blanket!
Winnie is a 7 year old Newfoundland born on St Patrick’s Day. We call her a “pocket” Newf because her mother was 120 lbs, but Winnie topped out at 85 lbs. Who knew that could be petite?!
Meet Stella. Aka Stellazy. Aka Stellasleep. Independent. Unbothered. Gifted napper. Has a knack for identifying a comfortable spot in every room she has ever entered within 30 seconds flat. People? They're ok. Cuddles? Hard pass. She has the situational awareness of a CIA operative and the FOMO of someone who just saw a group chat without her in it. The moment another dog starts playing, Stella is suddenly and mysteriously, present. She'll be over there. Doing her thing rocking out to Bruno Mars' "Lazy Song"
Kylo is a lovable pup and the perfect mix of friendly and playful—always ready to make new friends, whether they have two legs or four. When he’s not busy charming everyone he meets, you can find him doing what he loves most: eating! Treats, snacks, meals—you name it, he’s there with excitement and zero hesitation!
Leo is goofy and funny and loyal to the core, he’s the kind of companion that makes you smile. He is alert and loves to be near people all the time.
Remy is all gas no brakes during the day, but a professional couch potato once the clock strikes 7pm. She is a proud sibling of a toddler and actually is employed part-time as the geese police for a local golf course.
WHAT IS POOCH PLAYOFFS??
Get ready for a lighthearted competition for the CUTEST CANINE of METROWEST!
Your $125 entry fee will allow your pooch to compete in an online, bracket-style competition, with proceeds going directly to BUDDY DOG!
Participants will have their pet’s portraits taken by Wonderstruck Studio in February and have the opportunity to create fabulous artwork for their home.
Pet portraits will enter an online competition in March, with prizes for the Final Four, and one dog being crowned the Ulti-mutt Cutie of Metrowest!
